D1 fuel pump question

I can smell the odor of fuel from somewhere on the D1 I am currently working on. One area I thought it may be leaking is the fuel pump as it seems worse when the tank is full. (I think?) So, I removed the cover and found something I haven’t seen on my other D1s. Notice the extra port for what looks to me like would be for a vent hose. As my other D1s do not have this, can I simply put a cap on it?

That is usually the fuel pump from a RRC which had the vent line connected to that if I'm not mistaken Usually if you smell gas on a D1 the 3/4 vent line from the tank to the fuel filler neck is cracked. I use some Gates Fuel Injection 3/4 hose and pretty much never have to touch it again. The aftermarket vent line = is pure junk and will only last a few weeks to maybe a month before it shrinks and cracks wide open.

Check to see if that elbow is actually open. I purchased one once that had that elbow and it didn’t go anywhere. When I was smelling fuel, it was the same problem as above, the vent hose. Mine was very obvious once I stuck my head under there.
