D1 fuel tank in RRC

Will the plastic fuel tank from a 96 D1 directly swap to a 95 RRC?

I thought the vent fittings were different on a 95 disco vs 96 but cant find a good picture online. I think the 95 disco and rrc are the same tank.

As long as the disco was non-ael it should be the same.

Was the ‘95 Rangie included in the gas tank replacement program? If so you still can get it replaced at any LR dealer under the safety recall.

I was working in Liechtenstein and the LR dealer there changed out my tank in 2012 on a NAS 1994 Rangie. As it is a safety recall there is no end date.

I only had the chance to call one of the 4 dealerships in my area today with the vin to see if they could verify if the recall had been performed. They said they couldn't be completely sure because their data didn't go back that far. They gave me an LRNA number to try, but it just kept hanging up while on hold.

Check if there is a date of manufacture on the tank, if it matches the year of the vehicle it likely is original. The date code on mine is molded into the plastic tank and is on the bottom toward the driver's side rear. It'll have a 95 for 1995 and so forth. I just checked mine and it appears to be original, guess I'll see if the dealer will do the swap at some point.

Good chance that your tank is fine then, but doesn't hurt to follow up with LR to check your VIN.

Wait! There was a recall for D1s as well?? I also have a ‘96 Disco. Thanks for the info!
Great to hear the LR dealer is still there in Tulsa. They really helped me when I lived there.

Yep, downloaded the various recalls which includes the gas tank.
