All,

Do any of you have an image or access to a working D1 head unit? I need to know how to route a cassette belt as mine has snapped. Should be pretty simple, but an image would save me a lot of time and effort.

The service manual for the unit can be found in the google drive in my signature. All the diagrams are there in detail. KEX910ZRV_SM_PIONEER_EN.pdf

So good news... the 6 disc changer works and I was able to jam out to ZZ Top's Greatest Hits. The drive belt for my tape deck was nowhere to be found so I replaced it with a generic belt from a variety pack I ordered off of amazon. Everything seems taunt and I could spin all of the three contact points and have each other point spin in response. The tape deck accepts the tape and loads it.

Bad news is the tape deck is still not playing properly. Tape deck accepts tape, loads onto two players. Deck mechanicals make a lot of noise. The component marked attempts to press toward the loaded tape. Cycle repeats several times and then the tape deck ejects the tape. Obviously something is failing to fall into position. Anyone had this issue?

Downloaded everything. Thanks for sharing. Had the Rave but was missing most of this stuff. Game changer.

ExpeditionMan, do yourself a favor and go digital. Basic idea is to tap into the audio lines from the CD changer to the head unit and 'T' in another source such as an ipod/iphone/bluetooth input.

My priority was to have a single cord carry sound and power to my phone.
