Hi all, I have been lurking here learning about my 1994 discovery 1 that I bought about a year ago. i have looked in the manuals but can't seem to find what this is and what is it's purpose? It is on the rear right side of the front differential. Thanks, Ben

vibration damper. Front driveshaft is unusual on a north american spec D1 compared to other 4wd vehicles, probably due to the catalytic converter in the way. This attenuates the vibration caused by the way its designed. You are unlikely to notice a change without it on a lifted Discovery.
