I’ve seen this a few times where two engines are listed on parts sites:

57079

8 Cylinders 4 4.6L MFI OHV
8 Cylinders 6 4.6L MFI

I never know which to choose. I do know that I’ve got a secondary air injection in my 2003 SE. Any ideas?

i'm not sure what the numbers "4" and "6" even mean in those lines.

but if you are stateside you have the 8 cylinder 4.6L MFI OHV.

Normally the engine numbers that are referred to are easily found as the eighth digit of the vin. I have a 02' D2, there were two different vin codes in 2002 a 2 and 5. They are different and yours could be the same.

what I've seen is it doesn't matter which one you pick for most things... may be a SAI vs non SAI thing..

Thanks guys, yeah the mainstream sites are funny, I know. I use them for common parts like spark plugs and brake pads and Rover Parts (Atlantic/Pacific British) for other things since they’re local. Cheers.
