I never took notice....does it make a difference?

Is there more horsepower one way or the other?

No, its a serious question. I noticed that I always do it a certain way (without really thinking about it or looking at it) and am curious if anyone else does too.

Never thought about it, but yea, I always have the buttons toward me. I think my thumbs just used to being on the buttons to lock/unlock, so it just feels "right" that way. Weird.

I usually have the buttons facing away from me, so when I turn the key I don't press one of them accidentally.

Sometimes I wondered if I was the only one stricken with OCD enough to to this every time. Buttons toward me as the key goes in the ignition. Otherwise, I would probably freak out before I get to the road.

Definitely not the only one. I'll take it out and put it in the "correct" way if I accidentally put it in facing away from me.

Buttons toward me. Unless it sticks and won't turn. Then I try it the other way at least once. It's probably because I pressed the button with my thumb before getting in, and it just naturally goes in buttons facing me from that point.

I usually use the plain non remote key that came with it to start the truck because I'm always afraid I'm going to break the new remote/key in half on accident. When I was shopping for D2s one of the keys broke in half in the ignition...sort of slowed things down as the owner fiddled with the two halves for twenty minutes.

That is just not right.

Rest easy; I have selective OCD. There are many other things that I'm picky about, just not this one. If the damned thing started, my OCD demons were sated.

Let me know if I would get better mileage one way or the other, if so then I will be more careful to make sure that I put the key in properly.

I never thought anyone else considered this. Buttons towards me for absolutely no logical reason, but I always do it the same way. Same with the Volvo.
