anyone have a d2 with rovertym 3 inch springs and stock radius arms and stock driveshaft? If so, does it ride like shit? I had a d1 with 3 inch rte complete kit/ front driveshaft, but i was wondering if that was all needed for the d2. Thanks ahead for your advice

I haven't needed them and have had the RTE 3" on my DII for quite a few years now. As the RTE guys will probably tell you, lift it, run it, and see if you have any vibes etc.. I guess for whatever reason some people do and some don't. I am running a TT in the front so that masks any castor problems there might be, but I ran it for a year or so with an open front and didn't notice any problems then.

Well, I'm running the arms, but most are not.

The arms did restore a livliness the rig had lost since the change in castor, and ideally the pinion angle will be appreciated by my front shaft, which will vibe less, last longer etc etc. The growth in wheelbase is so minimal, however even a 1/4 here matters, I can 'feel' it, money aside, good mod. If youre just starting out with mods there are plenty other ways to spend it, OBA, Diff guards, Roof, roofLights, under chassis lamps, Battery, Tires, Wheels, Interior wiring, Stereo, hifi speakers, amps, subs, bluetooth, Bilsteins, Bumpers, sliders, winch, lockers, HD axles, CVs, were all stuff i had already done, so radius arms was pretty far down on my list, but yes, it was there, and its done, and I'm glad. Kudos to RTE for a neat mod. I do dig the QT lightweigt and all, but this is a component that playing with grams vs strenght may not be smart. The RTE stuff felt heavy, but indeed beefy, very HD.

That's what I did, springs brake lines and shocks for the 2inch lift.
But I am considering a 3degree radius arm or caster corrected hub as the truck felt strange when in turns. Kind of like it is running on the outside edge of the tires.

Like Mike said...install the lift and see if you have any issues. I ran the 3" lift for years without any driveline vibes, excessive tire wear or castor issues...

I'm running RTE 3" for a few years now. no vibes, no weird tire wear, still handles great.

I do keep up on my maintenance though, and I think that is Key.

Edit: Stock radius arms

I did the 3" RTE lift in 2004. The steering was a bit too twitchy, like a unicycle, for my tastes so I installed the radius arms. Much better. If you plan to put a TT in front then you may want to install the TT before deciding. If you are going to leave it stock or put an ARB in the front then the radius arms are worth it. The vehicle is much more driveable.

To put it in perspective... my wife wouldn't drive the truck before the extended radius arms, but doesn't hesitate to drive it now.
