All of you guys who have 35s how much trimming was involved. I am set on getting 35s soon and don't mind cutting. I know I will need to cut the ends of my sliders, but how much of the wheel wells need to be trimmed. I am running about 4.5 inches of lift and stock trailing and radius arms. running steelies as well...

lengthen the radius and trailing arms (which you should do anyways with that much lift, but for some reason LR guy's think its ok to run with poor suspension geometry) and you won't have to trim anything…

don't have the funds for that Mongo...I wish I did, but I don't. I need tires anyway....I want 35's....I will just trim what needs trimming...

and for the record....adding larger tires does not effect suspension geometry. My suspension has proven itself just fine and the need to drop 1500 bucks or more on some radius and trailing arms is crazy when my truck is worth 1000 at best.....

larger tires no, taller springs yes…I only trimmed a little off the front because of the wider track of the axle, not the tire, attached photo is no trimming, no bumpstop and a 37" fully stuffed. Doesn't help I know

FYI if your lift pulls the axles forward in the rear, and the front toward the rear, you've changed the geometry

Paging wargasm for stupid fucking comments

Just get 33's.
The rubber is cheaper.
The mods are cheaper(ditch your 4.5" of lift for 3") and forget about radius/trailing arms and axles and lockers.
The gearing is cheaper(you should regear with 35's.

It sounds like you don't have the sctratch for 35's so why bother. You'll wind up with a turd that has weak axles, weak diffs, and is slow. You'll look like you have an awesome capable truck but in reality you won't.

Ditch the 4.5" lift, get some 3" springs and run some 255/85's and I think you'll be much happier.

i wam well away my "geometry" is not how it cam off the assembly line. I just don't have the money to change it back. It works fine.

Your truck is badass Mongo....I am a bit jealous!

I can answer your question very easily. Blah blah blah, blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. So blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. This advice should be exactly what you wanted to here.

you know...discoweb is (was) an awesome place for Land Rover fanatics. I am so fucking sick and tired of every damn post turning into a match of who has the biggest dick.

So...with that being said I will add fuel the fire.

I guarantee I wheel my truck harder than 95% of everyone on this forum. I love my truck it is totally a weekend toy for me. I rarely drive it unless it is over Volkswagen size boulders.

If I have shitty suspension geometry....who cares.....

If I have too large of a lift.... who cares

If I have tires that are too big....who cares

If I have taillights held in place with zip ties..... who cares

If I haven't washed under my hood in 8 years..... who cares

If i have more bent body loneliest than straight one..... who cares

Its my truck and I wheel it hard and it has always gotten where I wanted to go....

I wish dweb would go back to a place where people with like interest can ask questions and get answers.

:patriot:

you can get a 1.4 gear tcase for less than re-gearing your diffs...
