The vented discs are heavier, and vented. So they will displace heat better.

I know the principle behind vented rotors. My point is that most people don't go with the D90 setup because they experience brake fade but because stock D1 brakes have inadequate stopping power, especially with larger tires.
My experience with D90 vented rotors has been that offroad they will pack with mud and won't self clear. The mud will dry and cause vibration. I had to pull the wheels and get the mud out of each vent with a screwdriver and compressed air.

My truck is 90% on road, I'm not worried. If I'm going to upgrade, I'm going to go all the way.

Looks cheap. :smilelol:

I bought all the stuff I need already... Rovahfarm has D90 calipers brand new for $100 each, no core.

Sweet crap!!
D1 rotors = 110 rotors.
110 calipers = 90 calipers without the spacer.

He speaks the truth. How do I know that he knows? A couple years ago I bought Brett's D110 calipers to install on my D1 precisely because they work with the rotors I already had on the truck. Here we are, thousands of miles later, and I'm still content with the decision. When it's time to replace the rotors I might consider something fancier, like drilled/slotted rotors, but I have no reason to complain about present stopping power. It seems kind of silly to put performance-oriented components on a D1. Diminishing returns and really - it's a truck, not a sports car.
