DI discouraged

D1's door handles have no trouble with snow. First winter with a D2 and discovered what a better previous design...
D2 Original bumpers can 't be considered to last more than a week.
D1's cubby box has room for a lot of things. D2's cubby box is Nanocom's place. I love them, but if i needed to choose, surely older trusty d1 winns...

I have yet to meet a door handle design that stands the test of time. My 66 beetle is the best so far.
i remember chipping the snow and ice off the door handles of my '77 VW bus all the while dreading the drive ahead with no heat or defrost.

good times.

still. loved that van. it was a lot of fun.

I think the DII handles hold up pretty well for what they are. I've been using them as ladder rungs since 2001. 🤣

When they freeze up, I just smack them with a hammer to shatter the ice.

I just wish they didn't fade over time. It's not as bad as the wheel arch protectors, but over time you really get to see the glass fibers.

Cheers,
