Please direct me to appropriate thread(s).

I tried searching without success.

I simply don’t want to change anything permanently. Just mount and drive :) THX !

What are you looking for? A steel wheel? Smaller wheel so You can mount some better offroad tires with taller sidewalls? Or are you looking for 22 in MoMoes with spinners and shit?
Hi, Thanks for the reply

I’m thinking it should be strong and light enough for general off road and highway use. I want it taller than the stock 16 inch wheels for extra clearance, maybe 18’s ’cause they’re on Disco 2’s and I like its height, etc., without having to mess with the suspension. I like BFG AT’s aggressive tread on an 18 but would prefer higher Load Range Rating of E but no lesS than D.

I would make my Disco do the Disco if I could, but that’s another matter. ;-)
As for the Bling, I can do without. I do like flowers, long walks on the beach at sunset, and Unicorns :) ;-)

Oh theres a unicorn floating around here someplace. I don't walk anyplace anymore that I don't have to. I'm alergic to flowers and the beach is supposed to be really high up on the covid transmission list of places to not go. How about a gym? Oh wait I spelled that wrong again, how about a bar?

I think you should maybe think about a taller tire and the same size wheel. Also note that the Disco2 and the Disco 1 wheel are not interchangable. You can't use a wheel from a Disco2 or a P38Range Rover. Disco1, Range Rover Classic, and Defender use the same wheel bolt pattern.

I don't know what you read and where, but there is a lot of stuff in your post that makes little sense.
Not even sure where to start.
The taller rim does not automatically mean taller wheel/tire combination.
If you want extra clearance, you can have all you want with factory 16" wheels. Most 16" tires are D- or E-load rated - without any suspension modification, your largest tire is 235/75R16 (which is most likely load range C or D). Factory 235/70R16 were load-rated E, as are many 225/75R16.
18" Disco 2 wheels will not fit a Disco 1.
Most D1 alloy wheels are as strong as you can have, perfectly suitable for highway and very aggressive off road use. All of them are lighter than any 18" wheel on the market.

I only like Disco Bars. So RETRO w/ Saturday Night by The Bee Gees

Ok, so Disco 1 wheels don’t interchange with Disco 2, that‘s sad :-(

Why?

I read the manufacturer‘s, BFG, Good Year, etc., websites for wheel and tire matching.
Wikipedia seems informative and now I‘m reading your posts. :)

For off road use, the 16" wheel will allow you to use a larger tire (more sidewall). This is important when airing down as you have more tire to work with. 18" might look cool but is not as good for a vehicle you will use off road.

You asked why the Disco2 wheel is a no go for your truck. The bolt holes are bigger on your Disco because it's just a better truck. The center bore on the wheels are also different. I've heard of people doing some modifications to the Disco2 wheel to make them fit. Somebody who has access to lathes and drill presses and stuff, a machinist is what you would neeed. Search the site, you should be able to find info here somewhere.

Oh, while your shopping for wheels and stuff remember that chrome has no place on a Land Rover. Listen to whatever crap music you want, but don't put any chrome on it.
