Disco 1 Sunroof Help - Stuck open in Tilt

Crazy windy and cold here today. When driving the rear of front electric sunroof started lifting up when the wind caught it (I could push the glass up with my finger). Have never tried to open the sunroofs since getting the Disco, but decided to try to tinker with it today and now the back is stuck 1/2 inch up and I can't get it to close flat again. 17 degrees here in NY today, so was hoping to find a quick fix and not freeze my nuts off this week when driving. When I try to open the sunroof it will not open all the way, appears the passenger side is catching and won't pull the glass back.

Try removing the plastic covers and closing it manually its either torx or allen. Im pretty sure I used a torx last

Anybody know the cause of this? It looks like to me the “roller” gets stuck in the track that moves forward when the sunroof gets to the point it should drop down. Maybe a rut in the track or a roller that doesn’t roll? I have some spare sunroof assemblies I will take a look at when I get a chance. The rear on my 98 did this today. I “helped” the glass go backward/open a little to get the roller out of the same spot and then it was able to get past the point the roller pulls it down.

I have a similar problem - just replaced the track on my D1 with a D2 unit. I kept the original motor. It worked fine for a couple of cycles, but now it will not slide all the way forward and down into the closed position. I can't even turn it by hand with the crank. After reading the RAVE, it states make SURE the motor and track are in sync (which I did not before operating) but it doesn't state how to fix it. The motor spins fine when not connected to the gear/track. It hits the stop and stalls out.

Any advice on resetting the sync?? I found some instructions on holding the button down for 30 seconds, to reset but that was for an LR3 and did not work on this one. Any help is appreciated!!

Mine is doing exactly the same, not as cold but rain is coming. The only good thing, is not my primary vehicle.
