While driving on the highway my 04 (250k) lost power: would choke when I applied throttle, but continued to idle when I pulled over. Only code is p1230. Replaced FP relay and checked fuse 10 and 13. Inertia switch seems fine. When I jumpered FP relay cavity i get 12v at FP. The hazard lights were flashing for some reason…

What triggers FP to prime? What are the other 2 prongs on the fp for? I was able to get the disco the start jumpered—but it had to feather the throttle and keep the rpms around 2500. Wisdom please…. Thanks!

The hazard lights flashing suggest you hit a big bump and the system didn't like it. It has happened to me and a re-set of the inertia switch solved the issue.

Fuel pump could be on its way out for sure. Check the connection to your battery.

I agree with WNYC, with that mileage fuel pump is failing. Do a fuel pressure check, Maybe try fuel filter replacement see if symptoms change.
