First time posting but looking for some insight. I'm buying this Discovery and the engine has never over heated accordning to seller and no creamy oil on oil cap and no oil in coolant. Takes about 2 weeks for resevoir to deplete half way.
In your alls opinion does this look like a gasket leak?

Thanks for you help!

No, there is no coolant in the valve cover. Why don't you spray brake clean in the area, keep driving vehicle and check leak daily. Otherwise remove A/C compressor bolts, lay compressor to the side. Remove power steering bracket bolts and you can slide this bracket forward to see right in this area where your leak is.

People often overlook the plastic lines running along the top of the radiator and under the throttle body. I have seen small leaks pop up at these points and go unnoticed for some time. I am not sure you can see well enough with the AC compressor in the way, but with it unbolted and pulled out of the way you can check for pools in the valley under the intake. Pull the plastic cover on the radiator/fan and check for residue on the radiator. With Rover V8s everyone assumes the worst but sometimes it is a simple fix. Sometimes.

Thanks! I check the lines, cap, and theres milky residue so coolant is getting in. More than likely a blown head gasket, especially with the external leaking. Any recommendation on kits? Atlantic British is pretty expensive, is it worth it or is Parts Geek(half the price) just as good. Or is the old saying you pay for what you get come into play here!?

Besides coolant consumption, another warning sign for my head gaskets was an engine code showing an oxygen sensor was unhappy. At the first sign of problems I had a shop replace my head gaskets, did not wait around for more problems.

Just an update. I’ve started disassembly, couple of things I noticed. No actual visual sign of oil in coolant (no black sludge) but noticed milky residue on water pump drain bolt. Thin coating of Milky residue on inside of oil cap no accumulation in oil.
