Hey All,
I am less familiar with Rovers, so I thought I would post up seeking some knowledge here - hope you can help!
A friend has a 2002 Freelander that has been a nightmare... :banghead:
She is on her 3rd engine. Rover supplied this engine - grudgingly.
She is on the verge of getting it back from the shop that put this engine in, but they are saying the "engine driver" is bad, and it is unrelated to the last two engine failures.
This so-called engine driver sounds like a management system that drops the number of cylinders needed. My friend just wants to get her vehicle back and sell it - pronto. But she is afraid if she doesn't do everything just right the engine will melt and Rover will tell her to piss off.
Does anyone know what this thing is? I am assuming it is a Rover only piece. Can she run it w/o repairing the engine driver? Is this something we can repair on our own?
Lastly, is anyone in the market for an '02 Freelander?
