Is engine replacement in a GEMS D1 a cause for adaptive value resetting?
I installed a replacement engine with new injectors and fuel pump but used all the sensors from the original engine. However, I bought the D1 with a locked up lower end and the crankcase was about equally filled with coolant, gasoline, and very dark oil. I have no idea how it was running before lockup. The D1 had 55,000 miles when it went down over a decade ago.
I did swap in another coolant temperature sensor as I thought it was running rich and that was a very easy job.
