Are the factory switches around the instrument cluster and in the center console area a standard size? Can you buy a new switch for them that is aftermarket?

I am looking for a simple on/off switch. Lighted button would be a plus.

The cruise control switch is the only latching switch that work for a switch while keeping it an OEM look. You can pop the cover off and grab the cover off the fog light and click it on.

Other than that, you can certainly use a dummy switch and modify it to use any switch that yer heart desires.

i have two of the Cruise switches to do just as you menitoned and i am going to put S and F on them for spot and flood. Will harvested these for me and retained enough of the pig tails to wire to. Does anyone know how they are pinned by wire color?

I think it may be latched on my 95, it is not latched on my 97.

2 part numbers per lrcat. amr3751 and amr5178. no mention of latching or serial # breaks.

Isn't the stock Fog light switch a latched switch? And it already has a "light" on the cover?

I wired auxiliary Safari 5000 lights to a spare stock fog light switch and installed it in the blank spot in the same bank as the factory fog light switch on my D1. Works perfectly, latches, and illuminates when on. It's a pretty clean solution. The only catch is remembering which switch controls which set of lights, but that is immediately obvious when I push the switch.

95D1 switches are latched, 97D1 are not. But they do similar work in D1. To do it, different MFU is requirred.

Regards

I just realized half of us were talking about rear fog light switches and the other half front fog light switches.

Front is latched on all of them
