Hi, The Beluga Black on my 92 RRC SWB is in need of resurrection. I am looking to have my trusted auto body shop go through it in proper order and complete a quality paint job. I keep contemplating if I should simply have it redone in Beluga Black or take the opportunity to paint in a different color. I do intend to keep this vehicle in the family and it doesn't go off-road. We are based in sunny FL so also factoring in the weather if a different color will keep this vintage glass house a bit cooler.

The image below really caught my eye, but not sure what color it is. Open to other suggestions on colors or wise counsel as to the merit with simply sticking with the OEM beluga Black.

Tough question. There are so many good RRC colors. If it was me I'd keep it the same, as that will help retain value and I appreciate originality, but if you plan to keep the truck forever then you should paint it whatever color will make you happy. Check out the model year spec pages at rangerovers.net, that will tell you the correct names of all paint colors used in every year of production. That way if you want another color you can at least figure out what it's called and what else might be period correct for the truck. Glad to hear you're committed to keeping a Classic running in good shape.

Since you asked for pictures, here's a photo of the 1993 Range Rover Sport in Aegean Blue. This is not my truck, but I have one just like it. I don't have access to a photo of mine at the moment. It's an uncommon color, supposedly fewer than 100 of this model were sold in the US and most were black. This and Ardennes Green are probably my favorite RRC colors.

Many thanks Tugela. I really do like the blue and as luck would have it one of the rear replacement quarter panels I have is in this color. I will look up Ardennes Green and decide in the next 1-2 weeks.

Earlier RRCs have black jambs & engine compartment. Since yours are black you could still get away with it if you wanted to.

I too am a fan of the Aegean Blue.
Yes, excellent point and forgot that with the early RRCs.

Yet as his is a ‘92 wouldn’t be “correct”. For sure it wouldn’t be as far off as most especially like mine if painted black with white jambs, etc. 😁

As an aside, my fav color is Portofino Red. Hardly any were painted in this color. My D1 is this and would look great. Especially if you keep the black jambs, etc. The most popular was Alpine White. While I like it, a pretty boring color. Yet as there aren’t many RRCs left you don’t see it too often anymore in any case.

Portofino Red does indeed looks fantastic. Just waiting for the auto body gent to be back from his vacation and get his take on changing the color, extra effort and cost etc. Will keep an eye for any pics and will update all on what I go with as well as pictures as the paint job will be done in pieces :).

My D1 spends its off time garaged and even so the paint needs a good buff and polish usually twice a year.

Luv the color yet it requires more care than the Alpine White on the RRC.

I am partial to some version of British racing green. I will say that my infrared thermometer said my white work truck was 40 degrees cooler than my neighbors black metal flake truck or the other guys maroon RAM. So there is something to be said for white, and it looks good on a Classic.
