i cant say i've seen many posts regarding rust, though i'm sure it plagues most of the NE trucks (as it has each of my rovers).

My driver/pass floorpans have seen better days (currently several holes). I've done aluminum/fiberglass patching before but are there actual replacement panels available?

I'd like to just cut out the bad and replace at this point but i'm not sure its worth it on this truck.

My buddy did some serious rust repair to his floors and sills a couple weeks ago, and his truck is a rust bucket... but it's a winter beater and he got it cheap. The seats needed to be replaced anyway, so he did everything at once. Just cut out whatever was shot and replaced with sheet metal. I just bought a cargo area floor pan from the UK (cheap!) to do that area. I haven't seen any replacement front panels, just sills and everything aft of the rear seats.

YRM makes sills and other panels. I believe a Landcruiser website here in the US sells the panels.

I'll be making some replacement panels but it'll be a few months before we start production.

Rimmerbros UK had body replacement panel, but those ain't cheap, since Will, Marty and all our vendors are parting out trucks once in a while, will it be cheaper and easier to ask them to cut you the section you want?

The problem is most of the trucks that are parted out have too much rust. Also, it's a PIA to cut out some of these parts and the buyers don't want to pay much for them anyway.

Shipping from UK can be expensive on larger parts.

Plus, we need to help the economy here on the US so why not buy parts made here!!! :bigok:

We need to make America great again!!!

If its just the front floor pans those panels are super simple to make from scratch, I looked at the cost of the YRM gear and it just wasn't worth it. Buy a 4x4 18g sheet for less than 50 dollars and you will be able to make some mistakes and still have lots left. The floor pans aren't that big nor were LR body construction methods that complex.

Where did you get the cargo area panel?

second on the sheet metal repair. I cut out the rust cleaned up around cut out and took some liquid nails and glued metal inside and out tapped the edges in smooth sprayed down both sides with flex seal looks good as new even blends in with all the shitty factory body panels

ok, good info. i have some patched spots already on the drivers floor but i see a rough spot almost thru on the pass side now and another section that went thru on the driver side now. was considering my options, including just cutting out what i can and laying new panels in.

if the metal can be had locally, cheap then i'll go that route. pillars are good, this is all right under my feet and behind the pedals.
