Nothing special to do it. Just unbolt the crank pulley (24mm socket) and the pulley will slide off. Then you can remove the old seal and tap a new one in. There is a special tool to install it but it isn’t useable with the engine in the car. I just use a small hammer to install.

Omg. Best news I’ve had. Now to figure out how to unbolt it and not have everything spin.

Socket on breaker bar. Brace breaker bar on right side frame or floor, remove fuel pump fuse, bump starter.
You can also make a tool that holds the pulley with steel or aluminum flat stock. The crank pulley has two threaded holes for the use of the LR tool.

Using a tool to hold the crank is a good idea, I don't think you'll get an accurate torque on it without. Some people will mark the bolt before loosening it, then tighten until the marks line up. A tool isn't too difficult to make.

If you are cranking the engine with breaker bar and socket, put a piece of heave cardboard over rad to protect it, just in case! Did mine, it's a piece of cake! While you have pulley off check it for cracks, if it's damaged replace, a used one is about $50

I use it with the engine in the car. I have a hammer thats shaped in a way that you can use the thin side to tap it in. It's a goofy shaped thing and heavy enough to tap that seal in.

I used flat stock to lock down the pully/crank, then marked the bolt before loosening it, then tighten until the marks line up. I used an air driven 1/2 drive impact gun. super easy!
