fuel line in to fuel filter leaking

some background: i've just finished running new fuel lines as mine had rusted out.
new hard line run and spliced in using all brass compression fittings w/o issue.

i went with barbed end compression fitting to allow for rubber line in/out the fuel filter for future ease of replacement. the end i placed on the filter is a screw in nipple/barb end for 5/16" rubber line but none of the clamps i've used are working-fuel continues to spew out at the fitting into the filter.

I'm considering a switch to nylon line but wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts or input as to what i may try. I've used screw type clamps, pinch clamps and squeeze spring clamps to no avail.

is there another option i should be looking at that will allow some flex around the filter for servicing?

What vehicle? Are you using clamps designed for fuel injection?

Maybe the barbed end is the problem. The hose clamp doesn't have a problem over the flared fuel line.

ill agree, that kit is nice but the price is completely unreasonable. i've run new lines nearly end to end and replace fittings and fuel filter and i'm still under $80.

Though these style fittings into the filter are something i've probably going to need to look at making myself.

I agree on the price. Check with the usual parts guys… maybe they can pull them for you.

So why not just use -AN fittings and a proper filter issue solved. While saving $ is always important you sir have a truck with a fuel leak now .

well i was trying to upload a pic but from work its not happening-my buddy/neighbor works in an industrial shop and fab'd up some lines that mate directly to the fuel filter, eliminating the adapter i was using. i guess the fittings are for hydraulic applications and are very nice. look very similar to OEM.

hope to get them in this eve. cant beat free.

I was going to suggest having a hydraulic shop make you some. I think that barbed fitting was your problem. Hope it works out.

well the line made by my neighbor are fantastic-everything buttoned up (besides the tank cradle) and running well.
