Fuel Problem?

In the morning when I first start the rover, I get a slightly rough idle and when I drive for the frist 2min I get a very very slight loss of power just for a millasecond, just enough to notice, almost like the fuel cutout.

After that it runs fine

Last time I experienced this on a Jeep it was a clogged fuel filter. Are the rovers easily accesable?

I just drove 2000 miles and ran 2 bottles of techron and used chevron the entire way, this is why I think I clogged the fuel filter full of junk after the cleaning.

FWIW I was getting 14.5mpg on the highway, after a two bottles of techron and six tanks of chevron I am now getting 19mpg freeway / 16.5 If I run through the mountains with the A/C on.

Thanks

Change the fuel filter. It's an easy DIY job and the filter costs about $5.

Hit the ends with some PB Blaster before you tacke unloosening it. Start the engine, full the fuse under the hood for the fuel pump. The engine will die and you can start changing the filter out.

Thanks

Why do I need to start the engine first? I assume to remove the fuel from the lines / filter?

Also, whereabouts is the filter located at? I took a quick peek and didn't see it.

Thanks!

You're right, you want to pull the fuel pump fuse w/ engine running to help to empty the fuel lines. Even if you do this, some fuel will leak out.

The fuel filter is in the rear passenger wheel well.

MIne was siezed so badly that I had to cut the lines and fabricate new ones.
Bad place to put a filter if you ask me...which you didn't.

Wrap the ends in duct tape next time. That should protect it well. Not that I do it, but it would work.
