I need to free up a day to get in for the dealer recall work. Then if the dealer denies my September repair (which I kind of expect to happen) then all hell will break loose.
Make sure someone is willing to do that while you wait. I get about 3 a day now and need to be careful about spreading them out thru the day. I can’t have half my shop doing fuel tank recalls.
Let us know how that works out. I’m interested in how they react to having to pay real labor on that repair. As apposed to pretending to pay for it at 1.2 hours.

I now have both parts in hand, brand new.
Previous part # LR043420 left. New part # LR112785 right.

Both are labeled POM, so the material hasn't completely changed. I'm confused by the two differences I see though. The new part lacks the flared hose fitting to the left, and obviously lacks the entire central round housing. Any insight?

You're right, I was hasty in throwing that part alone into my last parts order. I'll order the rest and proceed.
I haven't actually done one of the recalls.I'm just a dispatcher and I actually kibitz for a living now. But judging by the fact that my hungry mechanics will grab them from me and I don't have to negotiate with them to get them to take them,it's not that bad. They tell me you change some stuff up.

Do yourself a favore and pull the 25 amp fuel pump fuse underhood and wait for it to stall. If the pressure is still in that fuel feed line it won't disconnect easy. I know that from all the tanks I pulled out of those thru the years.
