Headed up to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area in two weeks. I am fully aware of the tourist trap that it is, but my little girls are dying to see some snow and I figured my chances are much better there than here in Atlanta! Anyway, we are staying in a cabin and plan to relax there quite a bit (no go karts, putt putt, or wax museums in our plans). I was wondering if there are any mild off road trails that I could hit. We will be in our LR3. It has a Johnson Rods lift and Nitto Terra Grapplers so it is set up for mild wheeling. I guess I could just hit some service roads, but wondering if anyone had any good roads that make for a fun "family" drive. Let me know.

I am aware of the big OHV areas. I am really just looking for some mild service roads to get us into the woods. If I were driving my D2 up there I would be all about some windsock, but in the family LR3 we need to stick to the easy stuff. hahahaha

Not sure about trails. The curvy road were fun in the Audi A4 we had at the time. The big park there was pretty cool to drive through. We saw a small bear, and there were some cool super old buildings. There was also a place that had a really good Bison burger, can't remember the name though. It was where it looks like a small village of all the little shops and stuff.

Hurricane Creek and Windrock are both viable options. Windrock has easy trails - tons of them, actually. My family lives on the backside of the mountain and we used to take the ATVs in all the time.

I grew up going to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, being from Bristol. I don't know of any personally, but I'm sure there are trails and service roads around to get on. The problem won't be if they exist, but finding them. Sorry I can't be more of help, but I'd take the Windrock suggestion.
