I searched sunroofs but didn't find this remedy readily available.

My rear sunroof opens a little bit at a time. I actually heard it open one day upon start up, But have not heard it again. However it keeps being open when I remember to check it.

2004 d2. The sunroofs are functional and close fine. . . Just cracks open randomly. Normally it's only slightly open. The first time I found it it was about half up on the vent position.

Any ideas?

I would try timing the thing. In the procedure for replacing the guide rails with drive cables they give a measurement that the front edge of the glass should be from the front part of the frame. Then with that front gap correct you tourque the 4 screws on the glass, lineup a dot on the motor gear with a mark on the motor housing before installing the motor onto the assembly. If it still does it after that then somethings broken in the roof guide rails.

No problem. Think of it like this. The motor has micro switches in it to stop it at exact positions. Its all figured on the glass starting from the correct position. When in the correct position the glass is kind of latched down. That position needs to be in time with the micro switch in the motor itself.

I see what you're saying I'll just have to figure out how to afjust it by looking it up.

While I have someone giving me ideas, I have a random drip coming from the back of the passenger side of the engine. It drips on the passenger side cat and creates a burnt plastic smell. Do you know off the top of your head what it is? It seems worse when engine is colder. Like just after start up
