Wow, this has turned into a gun party. Don’t care about style so much on a handguns but I’ll stare at a pretty over and under or side by side all day long.

Don't think that really matters to the guy staring down the barrell of a weapon. Oh, he says, I love how you bedazzaled your front sight and those pearl handgrips are to die for...

Plastic works over and over. Of course metal works as well, like my Springfield TRP, but as I have said before, guns are tools IMO. All about function. Love my G19 w an extended slide lock and mag release, but I suppose everyone has different tastes.

Not the prettiest, but it still works...

I'm sorry you have no soul. Is your living room decked out in lawn furniture? I mean it's ugly, but it works right?

No lawn furniture here, but i also dont worry about how 'pretty' my tools look. Not saying i cannot appreciate a well-made firearm but I just dont care about looks as I do about practicality. To each is their own. Some have fine collections of various things and talk about it non stop... That reminds me, I need to go put some gold flakes on my sledge hammer and then put an EO Tech on it so I am spot on splitting logs...

Man jewelry? Really? Tell that to the guy who carried this through WW2.

To be clear, I'm mostly joking-I had a Springfield 1911. I gave it to my ex wife, as she preferred the single stack.

As far as carrying something in WWII; it does have a wonderful history-but handguns have advanced significantly since then. (and even in WWII, a handgun was still something to carry to the chow hall-or to fight your way to a rifle).

I laughed at the "man-bling" joke. It was funny and true (somewhat).

I don't carry for a living (and only really in the woods when I do), so I don't need a 16 rnd mag, lights and lasers. A single stack is more than I need (and a second mag). If I ever need more than that, well, I've got bigger issues going on.

So, for me...might as well have something that is reliable AND purty. That whole quality over quantity thing...

I like my 1911, but it's honestly just a big frame to carry concealed. While the S&W Shield is quite smaller, esp. the handgrip, it doesn't print at all in the appendix carry while wearing a tshirt. Even the G19 shows a bit unless you have smth good covering it.

Ask gimebakmybulits how that advancement is working for him!

Truth, when a guy gets walked out in bracelets after taking two .40 Gold Dots to the chest or with a 9mm a little too high on the forehead folks become true believers in using rifles.
Today's 9mm+P is almost as good as .40 so I fail to see the logic of bigger bore when you should be reaching for a long gun. For the ones who think a single stack is enough, take a gander at gunfight stats and see how many rounds are fired before hitting the perp (if at all).
