I’m not knocking golf or any activity adding joy to one’s existence. Just don’t call it a sport.

There's no "sport" where's there's a bigger disconnect between what the pros can do and the average Joe can do than golf. When you are sitting there with that club in your hand, thinking about hitting that little white ball, it's almost impossible to imagine what all can go wrong.

I can see why people dont think golf is a sport, it really doesnt require athleticism. I also upland bird hunt, and plenty of fat people do that too. That too is considered a sport.

But unfortunately, lR'S do suck. And a lot of people here who genuinely love LR's have admitted that over the years. They were doing a service to those who came here thinking about ownership but weren't prepared for it. Kudos to them.
i dont have a dog in this fight so don't get me wrong but why would someone who hates rovers with a passion stay on a rover site ? I don't like jeeps but I would never go on a jeep site just to stir the pot. my time is more important than that.

A guy can probably shoot par from 5500 yards without much athleticism.

To shoot par from 7000+ with no athleticism would require world-class hand-eye coordination. I.e., the ball doesn't go far, but always ends up within a couple yards of the target.

*I'm equating "no athleticism" with a male who swings like my 70 year old mom and can't get a driver over 150.

I was equating athleticism with physical conditioning. You do not need to be in peak physical form to succeed at golf, look at John Daly. Im not in any great shape and my average 5 iron shot is 220 yards.

Dude, if you're carrying your 5i 220, you should practice up for a year and take a shot at your state open 🤘

I only hit my irons that far because I can't hit my driver or woods at all. Still double digit handicap, wouldn't do too hot against most of the state's best

The 16th green at the golf course I grew up near would make an awesome home site. The green could make a great patio with a sliding glass door out of a walk out basement.
When that place closes down I'll try to buy it. Problem is I really hate Indiana now. Hickiana.

Last time I was down there they still liked wearing biker jackets with the fringe down the arms with a baseball cap. That's an awesome look
