Good shop (or friendly driveway :) ) in or near Durango, CO

Heyo, we are an Oregon couple that have been on the road now for 19 days living out of our Discovery 1. We have a few more months to go, and have been dealing with an oil leak needing attention. I have dropped the sump and resealed while in a camp ground yesterday, but it's still leaking from what I think might be the oil cooler o-ring. I have been very mindful about dealing with this issue, environmentally wise, but could really go for a break and just have an honest mechanic potentially take care of it or have a host volunteer a driveway where I could spend the time to really look closer at the issue.

I know this is a strange request, but I thought I'd throw it out there while we are passing through. After Durango, I believe we are heading north to Silverton, CO.

Pardon the brevity, I am using my cell phone...

Thanks in advance for any help!

Jeremy, you might check out this site:

http://www.birmabrightbrotherhood.com/

It's a useful resource for connecting people like you who need Rover assistance with people like us who are happy to help. You can search geographically for members near you and see who is willing to offer what - space, tools, recovery, etc. Sorry to hear you're having troubles but there are many worse places to be stuck than Durango. Good luck with a durable solution.

Thank you for the reply, Tugela, we will definitely check that out while sitting down to a late lunch. It sounds like a great resource for the rest of our trip.

Thanks again!

Best,

Jeremy

I have a good friend in Grand Junction who is a rover guy and a shop mechanic. I will clue him into this thread, if he can help he will respond.

We were just up in Durango Friday/Saturday wrapping up a trip. Saw someone in a lifted D1 driving past our group. Not sure if it was you or not. Good luck on getting the repairs taken care of!

Thank all, but I have it sorted now.

Mike26, I did pass a D1 and D2 while I'm Durango. Moreover, we were actually just in town picking up a few things and going back to our camp in Silverton (or just outside). When we got back our friends that had stayed behind atvcamp said they had noticed a few disco's drive by our spot along the river and described your two trucks. Small world.
