Replacing or removing my 2004 D2 headliner is on the project list. I think painting is the way to go, but sure as hell not rhino-liner or bedliner. I'm thinking a black low-gloss or semi-gloss would fit the bill.

Damn. Yall naysayin' summabitches are talking me out of a bedliner finish. I was concerned about getting a smooth finish without any texture to assist in hiding.

I can't stand black headliners. A ton of new Jags and Rovers come from the factory with them. It seems played out at this point, much like black alloy wheels.

A black headliner wouldn't be that bad. As long as people want me to breakdown wheels n tires to send them out for black powder coating I'm good with that too.

I used bed liner for the, well, the bed of my 110. UPol Raptor is tintable and I highly recommend it. I've had it on my roll cage for about four years now and I think I found one tiny scratch somewhere recently.

Inside it hasn't fared as well, but that's not the fault of the UPol Raptor. I put Al's HNR under the bedliner, and it's too soft of a layer so the bedliner scratches off due to the Al's HNR under it.

More on Al's HNR: I used it extensively on my floor and bulkhead, and I don't think it actually did anything. I know other people have raved about it, but I wouldn't use it again.

Black interiors make the space feel closed in. Not what I'm looking for in an adventure focused vehicle.

I actually find that the black headliner is useful in the same way that the expo-licious hood blackout is; it reduces things the eye focuses on. The contrast is useful. That could all be made up, but that has been my seat of the pants experience.

I don't particularly notice feeling closed in...but I'm short so that may explain it too.

I had an Alfa Romeo years back and the sunvisors were black on the back side which helped a lot with glare when they were down, so that makes sense to me.

I did mine a few months back but just used headliner fabric. Turned out good enough for me. Few wrinkles at some of the corners. You really do need to work fast when that glue starts to grab.

I'm searching for a print of the Sistine Chapel on headliner fabric.
