A good friend of ours was hit by a car last week while out walking her dog at 9:15 on Saturday night. Sweetest girl in the world. The fucker took off after plowing her down while she was crossing a major street. She has multiple head lacerations, both collarbones broken, 6 broken ribs, 1 broken vertebrae, 2 fucked discs, broken tibia, broken ankle. Medical-induced coma, long line of surgeries ahead, the whole 9 yards. Her dog didn’t make it.

These 2 shitty photos are all the police have. Looks like a BMW 3 series to me, just like my old 2001 325i, but I’m probably projecting that image onto the photos. Could be a VW Jetta, Audi A4, or a whole number of other sedans with nearly identical profiles. The nose looks a little lower and more rounded-off than BMW but I swear I see a Hofmeister Kink.

Let me know if you have any insight. Thank you.

Those photos are poor quality. Sorry to hear about your friend, that sounds like a horrific trauma. When she's recovered from the surgeries, I recommend IFS therapy - it's a form of mental health counseling that is highly effective at helping the brain to process trauma. My wife is a therapist and that is her specialty. As to the car, the second photo does nothing for me but the first thing I thought of when I saw the first one was a Lincoln LS. This is going to be a bit of a Rorschach test. Ten people could look at those pictures and see 12 different cars. Hopefully witnesses come forward or the driver has a conscience and owns up to it.

I don't use photoshop a whole lot but there must be a filter to take out that motion blue and get more car lines visible.

I'm not buying it that these crap photos are all the cops have. That is a major intersection and it has red light cameras pointing everywhere. I've been popped at this intersection for scooting through a yellow left turn arrow.

Well if the cops have better photos then I’d assume they’d use them. If I had a line on what type of car or better photos I’d just give it to the cops.

That's a big assumption. When my wife was struck in a hit and run the cops weren't exactly in a big hurry to identify the driver, even though there were multiple eyewitnesses. It was a frustrating position to be in knowing that the information was out there and you couldn't do anything to make the wheels of justice turn faster.

Yeah, I’ve been thinking about what I wrote and realizing that it’s probably not a big priority for the police. They did their paperwork, she’s alive, move on to the next thing.

It looks like there are at least 5 cars staring at that vehicle as it drove by.

It's a huge intersection. She was a bit east of it and it sounds like she stepped out from behind a bus into the traffic lane - so she isn't entirely without blame. It happened at 9:15 the Saturday night before last so the driver had probably had a few drinks. This area is just south of the major "Old Town Scottsdale" bar area.

She's all messed up - still no surgery on her mangled leg due to an infection and fever. They have an external brace on her leg, pin holding her ankle together, brain bleeding seems to have subsided, lacerated liver, 4 fucked up discs in her spine. She's been heavily medicated but somewhat conscious. She thinks she fell off a horse.

I'll try reddit too but.....at this point, what difference does it make?

The driver of that car is a fucking idiot. Unless he was speeding that was all on her. By driving off it's on his/her's ass.

The kid's former GF was driving home from our house one night and hit a guy who stepped out from behind a wrecker unloading his truck. They had to wash bits of this poor kid's brains out of her hair. No charges, not even a lawsuit. I mean what could she do.

I'd almost bet in this day and age one of those cars has/had dashcam footage of the vehicle.
