He emailed me yesterday 89k. So not sure on the mileage discrepancy but he seems like a straight up guy...so I would imagine some sort of typo.

He also stated " Roverland 4x4 is just finishing the transfer case and other items to the tune of $3,150"

Its a nice truck ...no doubt...The unfortunate part is it's a 10yr old Disco II ... and as much as we all love them the market is saturated and tired... The resale value in these trucks is horrific at best. Kind of makes you cringe when the new Rover commercials come on claiming to have the strongest resale value.... Why couldnt they do this 10yrs ago!

Nice find...I almost forgot about it.. Huge price drop since 06. OVER 50 PERCENT..
the warranty is attractive...definitely adds value

42 months 9k miles. 214 miles per month... AVERAGE CALENDAR MONTH 30 DAYS...breaks it down to 7.13 miles a day...

the bill seems a bit steep for a tcase bearing though...IF ANYONE IS WILLING TO PAY 3100 for that I will travel to see you...and only charge 2000.00...just call anytime...Will fly anywhere U.S. and possibly some international.

Roverland just quoted me $600 for a new driveshaft, and $370 labor, instead I will just bring the ds and U-joints to them and they'll charge me $70 to do just the U-joint I just need to bring the part.

Marco?

970.00 for a new driveshaft installed? OR 370.00 LABOR AND 230.00 U JOINTS?

That is really high man...I can get you a new Tom Woods for 345 delivered.

IS THIS Truck still up for grabs?

That's what I told them, it was $970 for a new ds installed, I already have it out, so I just need them to press the old one out and the new one in, they said they would do it for $70. But at first they were really pushing for a new one.

sorry for the hi jack

The owner has been out of the country for the last several months and they've really slid since. That's the third instance I've heard of hyper-exaggerated pricing.

Alright guys, the Rover has actually has 95K now, so I've put about 5K on it this year. Roverland came in at $2950 for the service which was a new bearing and reseal of the transfer case, oil change, alternator (almost $700, jesus!) and coolant resevoir. I am looking for my warranty paperwork and will post info when I find it. The warranty is bumper to bumper. Oh, and while at Roverland it came back with the original turn signals/fog lenses in the rear bumper. I had upgraded to the newer style red/smoke clear units, so hopefully this will be resolved quickly. My price has not changed much in the last year for two reasons. First, if its worth this little amount of money, why sell??? Second, I have done tons of service and added the warranty. With that said, its ready for more service! I think it needs ball joints and the passenger window just came off track. Otherwise, its quieter and nicer than ever. So, maybe the price is high, but I really want to get as close to $5000 as possible....maybe $4500??? I've spent so much on this thing!!!

Thats shady on the rear lights being swapped out at a Roverland... but who knows..could have happened on their lot.

You are preaching to the choir on the upkeep costs...and also the reason why these things tank in value.

Sent you an email.

I've attached a couple pictures I found on a memory card. Its still in just as nice shape as in the pictures, but they don't show much either. New camera on the way, I'll take a few more tomorrow.

Well, my wife has always wanted one of these
cool toys (AKA money pits) and she had some money
burning a hole in her pocket, so she bought it.
I go out to pick it up this weekend.

Any advice for a newbie Discovery owner?
