Haven't seen one of these in ages have you? How do you take this abomination of a drive shaft apart?

There are bolts inside the center joints, remove the bolts and insert a wedge to drive them apart.

Yup, BTDT. Still have the press tooling we made for removing the center bearings as well.

The rust we get around here was no help. As I remember, one of them slid apart, the other required a drift.

No, they should have to buy it back at full sticker price, or trade the owner straight up for a new LR2. Nothing hurts more than money out of pocket. They will never learn if they get away with pretending their mistakes didn't happen.
