I've recently hydrolocked my 3.9l disco. I managed to clear the cylinders, drain the oil and check fuses. I used compressed air to blow any excess what out of the manifold as Well. What more do I need to check? As it still won't fire. Cheers guys.

Check for signal with a plug wire probe while cranking. If you don't have a probe, pop out a plug, and ground it against a manifold while hooked up to its plug wire, then have someone turn it over while you watch for spark. Don't hold the wire.

If you have spark, check fuel pressure: https://workshop-manuals.com/landro.../system_information/specifications/page_7049/

If neither of those are problems, check compression.

I ran through every single thing, dried wires and plugs. Replaced air filter and fuel filter. Ended up tow starting it with a huff and a puff it started and runs perfectly but will not quite hold an idle yet. Since I've had it running another issue has risen though, I seem to be having problems with the alarm going off constantly and the vehicle not starting, literally just giving me a click when I turn the key as though I have a flat battery (it's brand new) any ideas? I've read something about a "spiderbox" but I'm having trouble finding a definitive answer. I'd rather try fix it myself than take it to an auto sparkie.

I must add that I have no key fob and my key does not work in the door as it broke in the ignition and I replaced it. So I have no key what so ever for the door.

I am not intimately familiar with the alarm system on a D1, so I will have to defer to others' expertise here. If it is like the D2, the fob and/or a functional door key are necessary to reset the alarm in some situations. I wish you the best in sorting it out.
