Is there a specific "re-learning" procedure for a new IAC?

The "plunger" on the new one is in a different position than the one currently in the truck. (Not sure if that is normal for a new one that has not self adjusted)

When I first start the truck, I have to help it keep running and slowly it will adjust to a normal idle. Then while driving, when I slow down, the idol will drop to zero and I as if it's not keeping up.

After 10-15 min driving it seems to learn and act normal. But, once I shut the truck off, everything starts over again.

Is there any specific procedure to reset/relearn?

Thanks!

You might want to try setting the minimum idle speed. Then if something else is going on you wont be able to get it set right. Pinch off the idle air hose and turn the idle air bleed screw till you get to a good steady idle, hopefully around 650 rpm or a little less. Make sure your timing is set before you start.

Disconnect battery for 10-15 minutes. Then start her up. Not sure where I heard this but it worked for mine when I did the same replacement.
