I think I would really have to hate a color to change it. To make it right you’re going to have to cut in a lot of stuff. Not worth it. Wrap it a different color. That’s cheap.

Wow man you guys have a lot different idea of what constitutes cheap than I do.
>Full-size SUV: A Full-size SUV is likely to start at about $4,000.<

If I were going to consider wrapping a rig I'd strongly consider going this route. I did my tractor, blacked out the hood on the kid's 4runner, and a bumper for my Taco like this and have been very happy with the results. Less that 1k in cost and some time and elbow grease to do that Disco.

I have heavily considered this due to the cost of a real paint job, and the fact that my truck gets used. I'm just not sure if the texture is something I'll be able to stand long term. In many ways it reminds me of those angry face Jeep Wranglers...

Repairing back to stock would still be expensive... unless I go MAACO special and that would probably not match anyway.

I think wrapped cars look good from a distance, for a while. There’s no way I would pay thousands for a wrap job. It’s more like tinting windows and detail shop type work.

Oh I agree completely. A wrap makes sense for a track car and that's about it. I was referring to the DIY raptor liner thread

Yet still less expensive than a proper color change. To help with cost leave the door jambs, etc. alone and just paint the door panels, hood, and roof. Cost will depend on what shop does it and what the goal is.

I like the spray bed liner stuff. But I don’t think the whole exterior of the truck would look that great. I’ve seen it used on Defenders inside the pocket that old style door handle sits in. The interior painted surfaces. But the exterior was regular old paint. When you get the kind you add your own color to and you mix in your same color paint it looks great. Accent stuff

Any good paint job is going to cost around 8 grand. That’s what makes a 3,000 wrap job such a joke.

I can tell from your post you didn't really look at the link I provided. Nor did you go out and research Raptor Liner or give it any real consideration. There is a ton of advice and info if you look. You can alter the surface by the gun you use, the psi you use, the distance you keep the gun from the surface, and if you reduce it. You can give it a paint like surface although most don't seem to like that.
