Idle

I have an 04 Disco II with 4.6. When it is cold, and at a cold start, it idles really high at 2700 RPMs and/or the idle will jump up and down too, It varied from day to day. However, not that it has gotten warmer, at cold start, it does not do this. Does anyone have any idea what would cause this.

Get some carb cleaner and toothbrush/rag and clean out your IAC valve that is on top of your engine. Wouldn't hurt to clean out the whole throttle plate area also.

I have replaced the IAC valved and cleaned the throttle body as well. It is still doing it, especially when its a cold start. On days like today where it is sunny had hot, it tends to not do it as bad.
