Immobilization issue or something else?

97 D1 cranks but wont start. Do not have fuel pressure. I do not hear fuel pump prime or relay click off. Few questions. When I turn the the key to acc 2 I do not get the double, bing bong chime, could this be related to the alarm being armed and immobilizing? When I lock and unlock the front door with the key (don't have fob), indicator lamps do not flash, to show locking/unlocking. Again wondering if this is alarm/immobilize related?

Could be alarm related. One quick thing to check is the engine management fuse in the main fuse block underneath the steering wheel. I forgot which one it is but I think the identification label will show you.

Also, make sure the bonnet alarm pin and others are being pushed in.so the alarm knows all doors are shut and can arm. And double check the inertia switch.

Yes check engine light is illuminated. Made a little progress but still no dual chime or fuel. Thought that I had fixed the driver door lock alarm button but it wasn't hitting it again. Did get it to arm and disarm but still same situation. Bypassed the inertia switch, I think correctly, but still no dice. Fuse is good.

Fuel pump fuse is good, has spark. Though because is doesn't do the double ding dong chime thing when turning to acc 2, it leads me to believe it's not in a correct mode to allow for starting, immobilized. Still don't hear fuel relay click. Is the fuel relay in 97 ael, in passenger kick panel or elsewhere?

its on the passenger fender. its 2 relays in 1. one latches the power to the ecu, and since the check engine light is working thats ok

smallish rectangle thing

you could pull the connector to the inertia switch and take a piece of jumper wire to the positive bat terminal and the connector to see if the pump fires up that way. 50/50 guess if its right. wont hurt anything if you hook up the wrong terminal

So your saying it won’t crank? What if you hold the key in crank for 10 seconds?

You need to check for power at the pump connector and follow the system in reverse. I think a dead pump or smoked relay is a lot more common of an issue so rule out the easy stuff.

It will crank. I haven't checked power to the fuel pump, but the way it is acking is seems like power to the pump is being intentionally cut.
I think if it's cranking it's not imobilized by security. The quick checks I usually run thru are is the check engine light on with key on and engine off? Then check fuel pressure , spark, and injector pulses. You're going to be missing one of those. The inertia switch is really easy to check, and I would press that first thing.
