I am working in Panama for the next 6 months or so, and was thinking about buying a diesel Disco or Defender to bring back to the states. I have done a bit of research and learned that I would either have to get a letter from Land Rover stating the bumper and emmissions are set up to US standards, or I would have to get an importer to bring it to spec. Does anyone who has imported a diesel have any advice on what they learned from their experience?
Thanks.

and a very concise response it is Leslie! :D

of interest to me was when I re-read the link I posted, I realized the 110 had a 200tdi engine in it. always thought it needed the 3.9 for this to work. so guess lady luck also is part of the equation as well.
