In need of an exhaust shop in Chapel Hill, Raleigh, Durham area

Anyone had any experience with a shop taking in their Rover for exhaust work in this area? All I need is a universal cat to replace the PS converter and a universal mid muffler 'cause it has a hole in it. Hell, maybe I'll even replace the rear muffler. No shop in Chapel Hill will touch this truck as soon as they see "Land Rover" or "Range Rover". It's the same BS story- reluctantly out come the catalogs then they offer to sell me a new Y-pipe and cat back exhaust and are asking between 1500 to 2K out the door. The shop I went to today said that "you can't cut out that catalytic converter 'cause of the O2 sensor. The sensor is pre-cat on my SWB...dunno why he said that. If I was still in Ga-I would have had a handful of shops that would have had the torch lit and cutting and welding before I could say rover. And do a hell of a job on it!
I just need a name of a shop that isn't afraid of working on this truck. Hell, I could have bought a new converter online for what I've wasted in gas money driving to different shops. Sometimes I think that the tree huggers are disguising themselves as mechanics out here. So if you have a shop in mind-gimme their name-they have my business!

I bought my cats (catco 6509) from Summit, had a local shop weld them in after I couldn't do a decent enough job. A shop might give you a break on the install if you buy from them, and there's no problem fitting generic cats in a rover. I think I posted pics in my older posts. Maybe print one out and bring it in with you.

I'm tempted to bring a laptop and show them the countless threads and the very good write up in the tech section for replacing the cats.
Plenty of brands for universal converters out there for less than 100 bucks. Just as many for the muffler. I'm tempted to go the route if az max...show up with the parts to a muffler shop willing to do the work.

Ron is the best exhaust guy I have ever met, has better equipment than anyone in the area, and his pricing is competitive, if not better, than the local hack shops that hire minimum wage flunkies and train them to upsell cats and ill-fitting pipes instead of training them how to do quality work. He can MIG, TIG, and has a real mandrel bender instead of a tube crusher.

Mandrel and custom work is overkill for my SWB but I spoke with Ron and I will be going to his shop for the work. Thanks guys!

spoke with Ron- very nice guy. suggested I buy the cats and bring them in. bought a pair. work kept getting in the way. never could make it to Raleigh when he had an opening. so the cats sat in my truck. then took a trip to atlanta and remembered they were in the cargo and made a call and had them put on. now that the rest of the exhaust is new...I've developed an exhaust leak most likely at the manifold. Lol.

such a PITA for such a minor problem. but when you are in a new area especially Chapel Hill, minor Rover stuff can become huge headaches. I wish I had the same group of shops I trusted with my track cars and rovers...now I gotta start all over again. But yeah, RJ's came highly recommended even outside of discoweb.
