I do like the idea of the Grenadier a lot. I'm torn between getting an LR4 now, or holding onto my LR3, and seeing what the Grenadier looks like when it comes to the US.

I keep kicking around the same idea and think I’m going to stick with my 3 for a few more years though I envy the nicer interior of a 4. Just too many question marks for me to trade the bulletproof 4.4 with the questionable 5.0 or SCV6

I never worry about my LR3, I just expect it to work.

It's the first time I've experienced that with a LR.

Because then they will be proven wrong. They quadruple downed on not being able to make their iconic model that desperately needed to be updated and built by machines and gave the world a nice SUV that they squandered the iconic name on for no reason except to hide the fact that they sullied the Discovery name with that line’s most recent offering. The Disco will go away with the Defender lineup. The Defender will decline when the Bronco hits the market and Toyota has to step up their game. Consumers in the market for off-road oriented, not flavored, off-road oriented vehicles will win in 3-5 years.

Oh absolutely, and they're destroying the Discovery brand, and they'll do the same to the Defender brand.

I've been pretty stoked to see the revealing of this car. Top to bottom, sounds very well done. If they can plug in to an already established dealer network, ie BMW or Mercedes, they'll have a winner. I think the biggest problem may be fulfilling demand.

Updated pricing targets for the UK

£40,000 for Fleet customers, and £45,000 for consumers.

The interior reveal will come before the end of the year.

The vehicles will make it to market at the end of next year, 2021.

If they can come close to that number, I'd give it some serious consideration. In the meantime, I'm just going to keep bandaging my D2's ;-)

Do you want a bro toy or a purpose built tool? Hmm

I want just enough creature comforts to let me know I'm driving a modern vehicle but not enough that I feel "disconnected" from the experience.

Basically what I want is a D2 with a modern interior and a reliable engine

The Bronco is not a bro’ toy. It’s a direct competitor to the Wrangler and offers what I think the new Defender should have offered. The Grenadier is a refusal to succumb to modern daily driver vehicular demands. Each brings something different to the table.
