Inlet Manifold Problems

The Machine Shop that rebuilt the heads missed three damaged "Heli-coils" that hold the inlet manifold on.
Today the Time-insert tool finally came (backordered) and installed the inserts
Whilst attempting to torque down the bolts to 38 ft/lbs the inserts pulled right thru the aluminium.

Can anyone tell me where to find the conversion kit for the Chevy engine?

This is the WORST engine I have ever worked on.

Maybe it was a typo, but I believe they should be 38Nm or 28 ft/lbs……
RAVE indicates the 4.0 Disco GEMS should be 28 ft/lbs and indicates 38 ft/lbs for the 4.6 Bosch. RAVE surely has errors. I torqued the intake on my 4.6 to 38 ft/lbs, FWIW. I have not had to do my 4.0 GEMS yet, but I have no idea what torque I would use.

While not common by any means, I have read of 4.0 intakes being torqued to 38 ft/lbs and having bolt threads fail.

I asked here and it appears to be a mystery. Not a single reply.

Here a D1 owner attempts to torque to 38 ft lbs and has all sorts of problems....
