Has anyone made any improvements to the interior of their Disco 1 or 2 that they are particularly happy with.

It doesn't matter (to me) if you built it of bought it, if you did an upgrade and you are glad you did, I'd like to see it.

(Specifically I'm thinking of those door pockets that are breaking & falling off of the front doors.)

If you do a search you'll turn up several interesting projects that people have done over the years. One of my favorite interior improvements has been to replace my D1 digital dash clock with an analog clock from a 1995 Range Rover Classic. A popular area for improvement is making the interior of the cargo door more utilitarian. There are numerous approaches that folks have taken, here is what I did to make a folding table and versatile storage space.

I also built a lightweight storage shelf for the cargo area of my Disco.

USB ports on the back of the cubby for those in the back. Now when the kids get in the car there is nor argument about who needs a charge more desperately. I'd probably put the same inside the cubby for those in the front if I were to do it again.

I also added a mono amp for the subwoofers (in the rear door pocket) and upgraded the drivers themselves. It is a remarkable improvement.

Pioneer, amp, subwoofer in back, replaced the stock speakers with Focal Flax. Somewhat stunning. Somewhat pricey.
Gimme Shelter and most Pink Floyd at #30 is P.F. Awesome.

With a little more effort one could do something like this.

There's a thread on here somewhere I read that had the decoder ring for which color wire on the clock connects to which wire on the Disco. It was an easy swap once I knew which wires to solder where. I've been pleased with the result. The hardest part is finding the part itself. With 1995 Range Rovers selling for $20K I don't see as many spares for them on the market.

Unless you have a new headliner you will be pulling it down for repair I scraped all the old glue and cleaned it and painted black with roll on bedliner guaranteed not to sag again i had thought about gluing an american flag or possibly a trump flag to it hahaha just something different.

i like the Trump flag idea.

not only would it add a touch of refined understatement but if you ever sold the truck and regretted it later you could always claim it was stolen.

This is a great post as I've seen all of these improvements in separate threads. Nice to get them all organized!

Speaking of USB ports, I've seen guys put in USB/12v connections in the rear cargo area as well.

I tapped the cigar lighter and ran wires under the center consol/cubby.

If I were to do it again, I'd put the same in the front wall of the cubby box. Plenty of room behind the window switches

On my D2 I installed a Sony Xplod Bluetooth CD radio,
a Discovery 3 gearshift knob,
Both ‘03/‘04 cup holders,
added blue LEDs to the gauge cluster, clock, climate control unit and the center window switches,
soldered in a 2.5ohm resistor under the driver’s seat to bypass the SRS fault light,
2 each 6.5” cheapy subwoofers for the rear,
and bright white LEDs in the glove box and all 3 interior lights .
