I've called them so many times they know my # and hang up on me. If you call them they want a phone # that's on there list. So just act confused and tell them a name when they want a # and run them around. I call and order Chinese food from them too. She don't like being called a little gook so be nice.

Suppose it makes sense to block your number if calling them?

I don't know about blocking the #. Not sure how they would react. I have my phone set to ignore anybody not in my contact list. So I have no idea how many spam calls I get. But I'm sure messing with these clowns will get me on some kind of list.

I got three of these calls from the same number yesterday on my home phone. Seems legit that the IRS would use a robo-caller from a wireless number.

If you talk to them long enough they walk you right to a Walgreens with lots of cash on hand. Western Union locations I'm guessing. Your always told not to interupt while he"s reading you from your files. It took one poor bastard a long time to get thru his gig.

Green-dot or other pre-paid debit cards. They'll have you read off the number, expiration and CVC number. The card will be drained before you can say Rumpelstiltskin.

I think this is the most poorly run scam there is. I think they only have a handfull of people working it and not one of them sounds even close to someone working for the IRS. One guy was getting really pissed that I was disrespecting an officer. It took him almost 8 min to get thru his little script and I asked him if he could repeat that? I asked one women if I was going to get a happy ending. When she asked me if I have any questions I ask if they have steamed pot stickers and can I get extra rice if I get the dinner size Empress Chicken. Then when she asks what did you say i just said something else. Called her a stupid gook once and she got pissed. Said what did you just say to me? I told her I said I'm at wook.

I got a few of these calls on my NJ number before moving up here to Canuckistan. From the accents, it sounded to me like they were in some boiler room in India. I never called back, but there was usually an "Officer Mike" reading off some script, and you could hear a bunch of other "Officer Mike's" reading off the same script in the bacground. Real clever.

If you do call back to fuck with them, you may want to use "Badmash" (Hindi for asshole) and "Ullu ke pathe" (Hindi for idiot, literally translated it means "Son of an Owl") at some point in the conversation. They won't expect that coming from an American..... :)

Obviously there are enough people out there who fall for this scam to justify keeping the boiler rooms in business. My wife got a panicked call from her cousin in NJ last week who just received one of these calls, fell for it and actually went to Walmart. Luckily the Walmart she went to doesn't do Green Dot anymore and wouldn't accept credit cards for money transfers so no money was actually sent.

Why this woman who is on disability due to a brain tumor and haven't worked in years would believe she actually owed the "IRS" money is beyond me, but she calmed down when I got on the phone and explained that it is a scam, the number is a VOIP number ("Do you remember how you called us on a local 908 number in Montreal for a while?"), these assholes are in India or Pakistan and the only reason they knew her address and that there were a Walmart near by was because her phone is listed and these people know how to use Google maps, too.

At least the guy actually stayed on the phone while she went to Walmart, so she wasted a good chunk of his time. Unbelievable.

I had them on the phone for 30 min last Saturday. Told them I had to call my son about this cause I'm 84 years old and I keep making mistakes. I think the bitch was actually drooling at that point. She told me I could not talk to anyone about this. I owed 2900 bucks but she was willing to take the 800 I had on hand. She also wanted to stay on the phone witth me even though it was going to take me 25 min to get to Walgreens. I had some other stuff to do so I cut it off and told her she was an idiot and a bitch and she would not be recieving 800 bucks. I bet I could have kept her on the phone for hours.
