Got a lead on a couple of basically free engine blocks with heads - but I need to know which kind they are - they are from a discovery apparently:

I am guessing this is Bosch? Of course I need the GEMS...

Bosch

Sensor mount plate can be swapped and welded into place.
Hmm - so I would need to acquire a GEMS sensor mount plate, but otherwise nothing is different? I can get these for almost nothing, so if they are useable for my D1 with just that change - then I should go ahead and grab them. Any links to the process of changing out the plate?

Will Tillery may be able to supply a sensor plate from a dead block. Lookup the swap procedure. You'll find GEMS to Bosch. Do the reverse.

OK - I understand that the heads are not interchangeable. What do I look for on the heads to know if it is or isn't SAI? Are all Disco 2's SAI or just certain years?
The heads will fit, there may be slight differences WRT bolt holes for ancillaries, but they will fit.
Differences will be in the manifolds, controls and plumbing, the basic engine remains the same.
