I fished my 15 year old Mountain Hardwear windstopper out of the closet, its a little long in the tooth. Has anyone found a well made windstopper fleece that is made in AMERICA?

havent seen a good one that was within reason cost wise...

also been super disapointed at all of the regular fleece hitting the market... my 6 year old columbia is still together just getitng thin, while my 1-2 year old columbias are falling apart. north face is a joke anymore. heck the last one I bought was a Merrel...

Found this on Marmot:
Products making up 95 percent of sales are made in China, Vietnam, Bangladesh, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Honduras, but the remainder are high-end mountaineering products made locally to ensure top quality in extreme-weather environments, according to Mr. Martin.

I wonder what products constitute that other 5%.

I got a Marmot soft shell a few years ago and really did not like it. Ended up getting rid of it

none of your fucking business
My Arc'teryx soft shell is off the charts comfortable and warm.

I wear it to work every day, out in the field, camping, etc and it's never let me down.

When shit really gets cold, I put a columbia parka over it.

I love filson but you have to watch them. They make some stuff in China now.

They mention origin on the product pages. Filson makes some seriously good shit, and it's all appropriately priced.

They have fleece made in the USA, as well.

Filson, however, is not for people who wish to appear as if they enjoy the occasional bungee jump.

Cheers,

Kennith

I have 2 filson coats, a carry on and their wheeled duffel. I have had the carry on for 8 years and aside from an oil stain i picked up in the back of a Manilla cab it is just getting broke in. I like the way Filson stuff looks. Mountain Hardware stuff is great but you see 15 people wearing to star bucks to look cool for every 1 who actually uses it outside.

This thread is timely. It's snowed all over the PNW the last two days and I'm due for a new fleece. That patagucci R4 looks like the ticket but I wonder if it'll be too much under a shell for skiing.

As for everyone wearing tech gear to the local coffee shops, that's totally the uniform out here.

Why made in America? I would go for the superior product. You are driving a Land Rover, and not a Chevy after all.

I have a 66 North parka that is awesome, but very expensive. I've only had it two years, but wear it a lot, including snowboarding a couple of times.
