I have worked under my LR3 a lot and never feel great about where I put the jack stands. Where is the best place? Should I put them on the factory jack points or somewhere on the frame or on the what? Any advice. About to do the brakes and I want it to be stable.....

Speaking of the air suspension making automatic adjustments, is there a reliable way to make it NOT do that? I've had that thing try to level itself on me several times while working on the truck and it is scary to say the least. I read somewhere that leaving a door cracked will disable the auto level feature and I have tried that, but I have definitely had the truck move while one of the doors was cracked.

Leave a door open is the easiest way to keep the suspension from making an adjustment . I guess you could disconnect the battery to be on the safe side . If something moved with the door open it was leaking . The vehicle will not make an adjustment with a door open .

Could "lock" the suspension ?

A neat trick is to raise to max height (with engine running obviously or compressor won't run), place stands, turn off engine but not vehicle power, lower suspension and tires will come off the floor if stands in right spots ;) Cannot raise back with engine off because all the air is out.

Dusting this one off a bit. During this slow time I will he rebuilding my front valve block which is leaking a little bit of air. Assume I pull the EAS fuses prior to jacking up the vehicle so it won’t try to extend/level? Not sure I’m brave enough to give jwest’s method a shot...

I'm doing all the sway links on my L320.

I actually read about this trick on an Aussie board (but just one wheel).

The rear frame locations were too low to get a stand under, so I just did the fronts.

Seemed like it was working, but then didn't and raised back to off-road.

I'm gonna Jack the back up and try again with stands front & rear.

If that fails I guess it's old school time...

Yesterday I jacked up the rear enough to get stands on the frame.

Tried to set the suspension to access height. It attempted to, failed, then gave message to try again once clear of obstacle.

🤷‍♂️
