Just AWD.

The LR2 is an evolution of the Freelander. It had better be a more refined, more capable vehicle than the FL... LR could use the positive feedback.

100x better than the freelander. I had an LR2 as loaner for a few days and I was impressed. It was fully loaded w/ navi and priced @ 42k.

A few things I didn't like.
- Side mirrors fold down when in reverse
- I could already see the truck going in for service for broken key slot.
- Under 2500rpm, felt like the truck wouldn't accelerate. Could have been because the truck only had 75miles.

after two weeks of owing one i can say that it does accelerate at any speed not like the freelander. Also it has 6 speeds and has a 2000 RPM at 75 MPH.has for the mirrors if you could switch that thing on and off it would be great.sometimes i like that feature and sometimes i don't.But i like the sensors when you back up.I live downtown and theres very limited parking space and it beeps until your hear a continious beep then you have a foot left. Its also a good safety feature if you have a kid or a dog behing you the radio even stops to let you hear the beep.

The mirrors are easily programed by adjusting them to where you want them to tilt down to or not at all and they always return. I have heard a lot of folks have been dissapointed by not understanding the features of the LR2. After reading those things I was amazed how quickly I figured out every feature including the phone, nav, mirrors, etc. (media bullcrap) I've had off road trucks and even a Disco II and with this one all I can tell you in difference to an earlier post by Landcruisers4life, what's not to like??? It's awesome!!!

Is the NAV package in the LR2 the same one as in the LR3? I must say I was very impressed with the touch screen and POV navigation in that unit. I have been trying to find an aftermarket unit for my classic that would be similar but have not found one as good all around.

your salesman was wrong, they are different units completely.. size, interface, etc..

So do you think the aftermarket will come up with a lift kit for this truck? I sat in one while my Disco was getting washed and I was impressed but it needs more ground clearance.

I am starting to really dislike the salesman I have dealing with on the impending LR2 purchase. So I called the Branch Manager. He called the tech guru from the LR2 launch. Information coming back is still that the programming, cpu, and manufacturer are identical. Software identical, and packaging different to fit the LR2 dash. F it. I don't really care one way or the other. I am not ordering that package. The other two option packages are reasonably priced. But the technology package is ridiculous for what you get.

The Tech package is no doubt a bit pricey. I traded my 04 BMW X3 and was comparing the LR2 to a new X3. The LR is a 2008, the X3 a 2007 and comparing apples to apples otherwise, the X3 was at least 8 grand more than the fully loaded LR2. So, for me, getting the loaded LR2 with the tech package was not difficult. And I must say, I have been using the features in this package daily and I really love it...

Yep, I miss the 01 Disco I used to have. It was a fantastic vehicle but the gas mileage was killing me. Now that Gas is closing in on $4, the 22.5 MPG I got on my LR2 (Highway) is preferable...
