Kind of impressed this weekend by the LR3.

We had a couple that ended up going out with us at Uwharrie. I never thought much about them until now, watching an LR3 with a small lift and tires tackle lines behind me was interesting. Part of my likes the idea of a 7 seater for DD duty. The other part likes how my Volvo has needed nothing in about forever and just runs.

Was it black? We ran into one a cpl times out on the trails, he was by himself I think though. On some pretty worn street tires and he went right up the Dutch John climb.

White, from the Smith Mountain Lake area. instead of LR3 it had Discovery 3 on the back, he switched it. Good looking truck, went everywhere I did.

Thats Doug. Its a nice truck. Last year we had to help him change his tire after he blew out a side wall coming down the backside of Daniel. Worst possible place to blow a tire. Right in the middle of the rock garden.

Here's another video of Doug at ROTR in Rausch Creed

I've loved all of the modern rovers that I've owned. 4x LR3 and 1x L322 HSE mkIII
Iircc he lost extended mode about 30 seconds into that run. I was standing on the hill as he drug his sliders and ripped his rear bumper cover off. Case and point. You can see my silver LR3 in the lot at the 1.30 mark in that video.

I've done almost every line in that course in my stock D1. A lift and more tire on my truck, the whole thing can be done open/open no problem. Cool to do in a new(er) $50k truck? Yea. Impressive? Eh. That are better vids demonstrating terrain response and whatever out there.
