Hi,

I've got a 2006 RR SC and the Bluetooth module can make and receive calls, but the audio does not appear to work properly (no one can hear what I am saying nor can I hear anything). I've checked the volume in the menu and it is set to 3/4ths to max. Is there anyway to bench test the module before I buy a replacement that may not fix the issue? Also, dealer informed me that if I replaced the module that the keys would have to be reprogrammed - something I had never heard before. Has anyone else ever gotten that story? Thanks for the help!!!

I'm not sure why they would have told you the keys would need programming. Look for any signs of water ingress at the module. At every module in the left rear quarter actually.
I think I would see about a used one from Will Tillery. Pretty sure it's a plug and play module( no programming) To be honest I'm not sure I would mess with it. If your dead set on fixing it then we could look into what transfers voice to your audio system, but first consider what phone your using and the possibility that it's just not compatible with the archaic system.

I didn't think you could even get them anymore. Have you tried a different phone? I would attempt a software update on it as those modules are kind of shit.

I've tried both the iPhone 6 and X with no success. It's on my nice to have working list, and it's probably more the engineer in me that wants to fix it. If I could find a module cheap, I'd give it a shot, but I need to yank it out first and see if there is any damage to it, and if so, if it is repairable. I did ask about a software upgrade, but the tech said they probably could not do it. May have to look into the IID Tool.
