"My D2 is leaking oil."
FB: "LS Swap!"
"What drive shaft should I get?"
FB: "LS Swap!"
"I need a window regulator."
FB: "LS Swap!"
"I would like to put an LS in my D2, does anyone know how?"
FB: "Er um, the LS Swap shop but it will cost $25,000 not including an LS and you get sparkly lights on your dash."
"I want to sell my truck."
FB: "One Million Dollars!"

Don't forget the inevitable comment under every single post: "What lift and tires you have?"
My favorite is someone asking for genuine advice or in dire need and some dipshit asks this. Stu has kept the LR3/LR4 group about as free from bullshit as you could expect on Facebook.

If you think these groups are bad, take a look at your local ‘Overlanding’ Facebook groups.

The amount of bad advice and information is almost mind blowing. And the Terra Firma love is strong!

Facebook groups are the fucking worst. Facebook itself is pretty shitty overall but it does allow me to stay in touch with friends and browse marketplace for shit I don't need.

But if you think LR groups are bad, join a vintage motocross FB group.

"Does anyone know of a replacement stator for a 1983 CR480 that actually works?"

"Badass!"

"Beast bike!"

"foreign language gibberish"

"I hade one od thos in 1994"

"imposible to kickstart my brother's cousin's aunt's baby daddy's ex girlfriend's child's best friends's teachers's grandmother's neighbor had one!"

"i had one of those in 1985"

"here's a picture of mine"

"I have one!"

"Is it for sale?"

"here's mine!"

"i have one"

"check ebay"

Never ever let this forum go away. Ever, never ever.

The amount and percentage of bad advice on FB groups is staggering.
I have three all-time favorites:
- what are the best tires?
- death wobble, and
- overheating or poorly running engine.
There are many answers to each of these, yet people shoot from the hip absolutely certain that their unique encounter with these things is universal behavior. At the same time, many people asking questions are also absolutely certain their encounter and circumstances are unique.

On LR3/4 groups: “I got this orange (suspension) light, what’s wrong?” then 12 different answers from “replace all your airbags” to “change to coil springs”

oh you gotta see the 11000 d2 for sale. the idiot cut the back half off the d2, welded a frame section on it and hung a non functioning axle on it. he says he has a rr classic rear clip that just needs to be fitted to finish this rolling abortion. I shit you not.
